Applicable to CloudBasic Multi-AR only (replica Web or Standard edition SQL Server pre-installed on the CloudBasic server).

The change tracking processes disable identity fields while inserting/updating data and then enables at the end. This is not an issue if using replica for reporting directly form the CloudBasic server.

However scheduled snapshots can contains some tables with identity fields disabled.

If you want to ensure you take a 100% ready for restore backup without the need to run any scripts to enable identities or constraints, follow below steps:

  1. Go to Replication -> Replication Schedules -> Promote DB to primary. This will also turn off data replication. The respective replica DB will be prepared and will be ready for backup (or to be promoted to primary).
  2. Go to Replication -> Snapshots - take a snapshot manually.
  3. Then go back to schedules un-promote replica and enable data replication. See the process illustrated below.
